The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DOH) has announced a set of improvements for home care services.
The enhanced model aims to ensure access and availability of high-quality medical services to eligible patients in line with international standards and global best practices.
DoH will address areas including clearer guidelines on patient eligibility, improving the definition of services provided in a home care setting, comprehensive licensing and international accreditation requirements for providers.
In addition, the upgrade aims to enhance the supervision of home care services by competent physicians, define clearer patient-discharge mechanisms, strengthen the referral process to strictly follow medical advice, and reward quality patient experience through an innovative, evidence-based reimbursement structure.
The improvements are designed to transform and further empower the emirate's healthcare sector, whilst also promoting ‘A Healthier Abu Dhabi’.
