Top seed Simona Halep is into the quarter-finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
The 28-year-old Romanian overcame Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 to book a last-eight meeting with seventh seed Aryna Sabalenka who defeated Elise Merten 6-4, 6-3.
Elsewhere, second seed Karolina Pliskova eased past French qualifier Kristina Mladenovic 6-1, 6-2, while double Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza overcame Veronika Kudermetova 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.
Jennifer Brady, Petra Martic, Anett Kontaveit and Elena Rybakina are also through to the next round.
