The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced a major $300 million partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation to help save three million children from malnutrition.

As part of the collaboration, an initial $100 million contribution will enable UNICEF to mobilise a further $200 million to expand life-saving nutrition programmes worldwide.

Through its global network and technical expertise, UNICEF will scale up prevention, early detection and treatment services for some of the world’s most vulnerable children.

The partnership supports the wider 'Edge of Life' campaign, launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

The campaign aims to combat childhood hunger and eventually reach five million children.

UNICEF will channel its support through the Child Nutrition Fund to deliver sustainable programmes targeting hunger and poor nutrition in vulnerable communities.
