UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa have discussed the latest regional developments and their serious implications for security and stability.
During the phone call, the two leaders stressed the importance of prioritising dialogue and diplomacy to resolve outstanding issues and safeguard regional and international stability.
Al-Sharaa reaffirmed Syria’s solidarity with the UAE in the face of ongoing Iranian attacks targeting its territory and other countries in the region.
He also condemned the attack on the UAE Consulate General in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, calling it a violation of international norms protecting diplomatic missions and a dangerous escalation that threatens the safety of diplomatic personnel.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked Al-Sharaa for Syria’s support and solidarity with the UAE.
