
The UAE has expressed its solidarity with Afghanistan over a bus collision that killed at least 79 people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs convoyed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the people of Afghanistan over the tragedy.
An overcrowded bus transporting Afghan refugees expelled from Iran crashed in Afghanistan's Herat province, resulting in at least 79 deaths, including more than a dozen children.
Video footage from the scene showed bright flames engulfing the bus, with a fire truck trying to douse the flames. A charred metal skeleton remained of the bus afterwards, pictures showed.
Herat, a key border province of Afghanistan touching Iran and Turkmenistan, is currently hosting tens of thousands of deported migrants from Iran.
