Reduced working hours have been confirmed for private sector firms in the UAE during Ramadan.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced that employees in the private sector will have their working day reduced by two hours during the holy month.

Ramadan is expected to begin on April 2, but the start date will be confirmed by the UAE’s moon-sighting committee.

The UAE government had earlier announced that ministries and other federal entities will remain open from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm (Monday to Thursday), during Ramadan.

On Fridays, the working hours will be 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
