Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi has highlighted the importance of protecting the planet as he tweeted a photo of the world to mark International Earth Day.
Tweeting from the International Space Station, Al Neyadi wrote "From space we see our beautiful Earth and the interconnectedness of water bodies, mountains, forests, deserts and more.
"These views remind us of our collective duty to protect our home. It is up to each and every one of us to take positive climate action.
"Everyday is #EarthDay."

On Friday, Sultan Al Neyadi took to social media to post a special Eid Al Fitr video message from 450 kilometres above the Earth.
The video features Suhail, the mascot of the UAE astronaut program at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center, floating around as Arabic music plays in the background.
Al Neyadi also makes an appearance, this time ditching his spacesuit for the traditional Emirati attire to mark the occasion.
“On this occasion, I send my greetings to the leaders of the country, my family, my friends, and all of you,” he says in Arabic, adding, “Wishing everyone peace, happiness and prosperity.”
Al Neyadi is on an historic six-month mission on board the International Space Station, making history for the UAE and the Arab world.
