E-scooter riders are being reminded of their responsibilities on the roads, particularly in busy areas of Dubai.
The General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police have launched an awareness drive following a number of recent accidents due to non-compliance with traffic rules.
The authority is stressing the importance of regulations governing the use of e-scooters such as the wearing of a protective helmet, maintaining a safe distance between other vehicles and people walking on footpaths as well as refraining from holding or carrying any materials that may affect the balance of the scooter.
E-scooters must also be parked in designated areas and not left in places that trigger traffic bottlenecks.
