An Asian expat has been arrested in Dubai for posting a video on social media that promotes fake news.
Police said the clip, which was edited by the young man could create panic among the public.
Officials have warned that spreading rumours is a serious offence that is punishable under Article 198 of the Federal Law (IT).
They have also urged residents to report such activities using the Police Eye service on the Dubai Police app, or on the E-crime.ae platform.
