The authority emphasised the important role of community members in combating false information and encouraged the public to seek news only from reliable and trustworthy sources. In a post on Facebook the authority wrote: "The Abu Dhabi police called on the public on the necessity of retrieving information from reliable media sources and not to conform to rumours and fake information, ensuring that their dissemination is in line with the values of positive citizenship and community responsibility.
