The US Secretary of State will meet with Mexico's Foreign Minister on Sunday to discuss migration and trade.
Mike Pompe's meeting with Marcelo Ebrard comes head of a key deadline on a deal that removes tariff threats on Mexican exports.
The agreement between Mexico and the USA involves the former averting punitive tariffs on US-bound Mexican shipments threatened by President Donald Trump if they promise to curb the number of illegal migrants from Central America by July 22.
The meeting will take place at Mexico City.
