A SWISS Airbus flying from Bucharest to Zurich made an emergency landing in Graz, Austria, on Monday due to engine failure and smoke in the cabin and cockpit.
The incident, which left 17 people needing medical attention, prompted an immediate investigation by the airline.

One cabin crew member was airlifted to a hospital, though their condition remains unclear.

SWISS, part of the Lufthansa Group, stated that it is in close contact with authorities and is working to determine the cause of the malfunction. The airline praised the professionalism of the flight crew in handling the emergency, which allowed for a safe landing.
The investigation will focus on the engine failure and the presence of smoke, which can pose serious risks during flight. SWISS has promised to continue updating the public as more information becomes available.
