The mob attack on a prestigious university in India’s capital Delhi has sparked outrage across the nation.
Students in several states have been protesting against the violence unleashed on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Masked men armed with sticks and rods attacked students and teachers and damaged property on the campus on Sunday night.
The exact cause remains unclear, but the JNU students’ union has blamed a group linked to India's ruling party, the BJP.
Police have begun an investigation and say they have identified some of the attackers.
