At least seven children have been killed and several others injured after a classroom collapsed at a school in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.
The tragedy occurred at Precious Talent Primary in Ng’ando area as morning lessons began on Monday.
According to media reports, the first floor of the building collapsed, trapping the children below.
Officials said 57 students have been admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital.
Television footage showed rescue workers sifting through metal sheeting and slabs of concrete to look for survivors.
Although the cause was not immediately known, as many as 30-40,000 buildings in Nairobi had been flagged as unsafe.
