The UAE and Qatar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost cooperation in labour and human resources development.
It aims to enhance coordination, share expertise, strengthen workforce development and develop legislation in key labour-related areas.
The agreement also supports broader cooperation across the GCC, focusing on jobseeker services, training programmes, and the governance of migrant labour.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 11th GCC Labour Ministers’ meeting in Kuwait.
The UAE was represented by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, while Qatar’s signatory was Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Minister of Labour.
Special committees will oversee expert exchanges, technical advice, and the sharing of labour market data and research.
