His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has unveiled the MBR Endowment District that will be built at a cost of AED 4.7 billion.
Taking to his official social media handle, Sheikh Mohammed said the proceeds from the District will go towards "supporting health and education projects around the world".
The MBR Endowment District will house a hospital that will be able to accommodate 90,000 patients annually, a medical university and schools that will cater to more than 5,000 students and 2,000 residential units. It will also feature a boulevard and waqf commercial shops, among other facilities.
The District, which will be built by Azizi Developers, is part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Humanitarian Initiatives.
Sheikh Mohammed thanked everyone who has supported the initiative, and expressed appreciation to those who "strive for good".
