New signs warning motorists of reduced speed limits have been installed on the main roads of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The electronic panels will highlight the speed limit of 80km/h during hazardous weather and will also alert drivers to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
The SMS warning system will continue to operate.
Reduced speed limits during bad weather, including heavy rain, fog, strong winds and sandstorms, were introduced to Abu Dhabi in April 2019.
Alongside the newly installed signboards, Abu Dhabi Police is urging motorists to consult weather forecasts during spells of inclement conditions before setting off on their journey.
