Five new schools are set to open in Dubai for this academic year, while another three are expected to welcome students by September 2020.
They will be able to accommodate more than 13,000 pupils.
The schools opening this year are located in Al Twar 2, Al Qusais, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Al Quoz and Jebel Ali.
Dubai is currently home to 211 private schools, with 41 of them starting operations in the last three years.
"The opening of eight new schools by 2020 will further strengthen Dubai’s private education sector and add to the wide variety of education offerings available to parents," said Mohammed Darwish, CEO of Permits and Compliance sector at Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
