The Arab League condemned Israel for undermining the work of the United Nations and other organisations operating in the Gaza Strip, including the bombing of UNRWA's HQ and offices.
The Council emphasised that the Israeli aggressions are crimes against humanity and its values, laws, and principles that are being perpetrated without any regard for international law, UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, or the measures and advisory opinions of the International Court of Justice.
The Council underscored that the international community's inability to halt the unprecedentedly brutal Israeli actions, now entering their second consecutive year, represents a profound moral failing for humanity and the global order.
Furthermore, the statement noted that the United Nations and its affiliated organisations have not succeeded in fulfilling the objectives and goals established in their charter to uphold international peace and security.
The statement also remarked that future generations will reflect on the international community's inaction regarding the implementation of resolutions and demands for a ceasefire, the cessation of Israeli aggression and acts of genocide, and the termination of the illegal Israeli occupation.
This inaction includes a notable failure to employ the mechanisms available within the United Nations Charter to address these issues, particularly those outlined in Chapter Seven.
The Council strongly condemned the United States for continuing to provide tens of billions of dollars in military aid to Israel, the occupying power.
This aid includes tens of thousands of tons of bombs, weapons, and ammunition, which have devastated residential neighbourhoods and infrastructure, and resulted in the deaths and severe injuries of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, during Israel's perpetration of genocide against the Palestinian people.
The Council also condemned the widespread and ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon, which has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of thousands of civilians and the displacement of more than 1.3 million Lebanese.
It warned of the danger of this aggression continuing, as it threatens the security of the region. The Council also condemned the recent Israeli attacks on the UNIFIL and emphasised the need to support Lebanon’s efforts with the international community to pressure Israel to immediately cease fire and fully implement Resolution 1701.
The Council urged the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to expedite its ruling on the genocide lawsuit against Israel, stating that it's the court's responsibility to halting the crime of genocide.
It called on the ICJ to issue arrest warrants against the Israeli Prime Minister and Defence Minister.
