The UAE will host Ireland for a two-match T20I series in January 2026, as the two teams prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, running from February 7 to March 8.
Both matches will be played at the Dubai International Stadium, with the first match on Thursday, January 29 at 6:00 pm, and the second on Saturday, January 31 at 10:00 am local time.
Emirates Cricket Board's Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad said the series will provide valuable preparation for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup.
He highlighted the UAE’s ongoing efforts to give its players exposure by regularly hosting international teams, noting matches in 2025 against Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the Asia Cup.
Richard Holdsworth, Director of Cricket at Cricket Ireland, welcomed the series, saying it offers an “exceptional warm-up programme” ahead of Ireland’s preceding series against Italy.
He thanked the ECB and said the team is looking forward to competitive cricket in the prestigious Dubai stadium.
