Liverpool snatched the Premier League title on Sunday with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

The win guarantees them the championship with four matches still to play, marking their second Premier League triumph and a record-equalling 20th top-flight English title overall.

Despite going behind early to a Dominic Solanke header, Liverpool responded quickly. Goals from Luis Díaz, Alexis Mac Allister, and Cody Gakpo turned the game around before halftime. Mohamed Salah and a fifth from the home side sealed the result in front of a packed Anfield.

This is Liverpool's first league title since 2019–20 and the first time they have celebrated the achievement with fans inside the stadium, as their previous win came during the COVID-19 pandemic when matches were played behind closed doors.

It also marks a dream start for new head coach Arne Slot, who has led the team to glory in his debut season.

“The way we arrived on the bus, everyone was thinking there is no way we were going to lose this game. Conceding first made it difficult, but they always find a way to win,” Slot said.

Star player Mohamed Salah also said winning in front of the fans made this title even more meaningful than the last one.

Fans flooded the streets around Anfield before and after the match, celebrating a victory that once again confirms Liverpool’s place among the giants of English football.
