Cameron Bancroft has marked his return to first-class cricket following a nine-month ban by scoring an unbeaten 138.
The batsman was suspended for his part in the ball-tampering scandal during Australia’s third Test against South Africa last year.
Bancroft led Western Australia to 279 in the first innings of their Sheffield Shield clash with New South Wales.
Although he’s played in the Big Bash League since his ban ended in December, this was his first game of red ball cricket and comes months before Australia travel to England for the Ashes.
