Abu Dhabi is gearing up to host the first-ever UAE edition of the Special Olympics Games.
It’s expected to attract more than 650 athletes with intellectual disabilities from across the country.
They will be competing in six different sporting events to be held from March 19-22 at the New York University Abu Dhabi.
As part of the celebrations leading up to the UAE Games, the Special Olympics 'Flame of Hope' will tour Abu Dhabi on March 14.
Last year, the UAE hosted the largest ever Special Olympics World Games, with over 7,500 athletes from more than 190 countries.
