Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed three major traffic improvements on Sheikh Zayed Road to boost capacity and efficiency.
These upgrades are part of broader efforts to enhance the city’s road network and keep traffic flowing smoothly amid rapid urban growth.
The first improvement extends merging distances between Umm Al Sheif Street and Al Manara Street towards Abu Dhabi, adding an extra lane for traffic heading to Al Manara. This is expected to increase vehicle capacity by 30%, easing entry and exit flows.
The second change focuses on the service road exit near the Shangri-La Hotel, leading to the First Interchange by Dubai Mall. It will expand merging distances, between the entry from the service road and the exit towards Al Safa Street and Dubai Mall, helping reduce congestion and improve traffic flow in this busy area.
The third improvement extends the merging distance between Al Marabea Street and Al Manara Street towards Abu Dhabi, aimed at reducing congestion and improving vehicle movement during peak hours.
