A couple from Dubai - Dacey Calisura and Jethro - got more than they bargained from their summer adventure this week - having to be rescued off the coast of Yemen.
Disaster struck after the couple traversed the coast of Somalia without issue and was headed towards a rest stop on the Yemeni island of Socotra.
For more than a day, they drifted before their mayday call was heard. When the first rescue attempt failed, a wooden fishing dhow was sent in.
A 22-hour towing operation through extremely stormy conditions then followed, with the couple now safely on the island.
Speaking exclusively to Dubai Eye 103.8's The Agenda, Dacey described the ordeal.
