His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, applauded local farmers for using advanced technology to boost food production.
"I was pleased to meet some of the UAE’s aspiring agricultural entrepreneurs who are pioneering sustainable and resilient farming practices using modern technology,” Sheikh Mohamed wrote on Twitter.
“Innovation in this sector is key to our food security goals, and our country’s diversified economic growth.”

A video posted on national news agency WAM captures him visiting several model farms in the capital's Al Bahia area.
Sheikh Mohamed said he was delighted to see Emirati youth design and develop ambitious projects and contribute to the UAE's sustainable food security plan.
"Supporting the agriculture sector is consistent with the UAE's strategy for sustainability, environmental protection and preserving natural resources," he added.
It comes after the UAE Cabinet, last week, launched a National System for Sustainable Agriculture to boost production at local farms.
