UAE, seven other nations welcome invitation to join 'Board of Peace'

The Foreign Ministers of the UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have welcomed US President Donald Trump's invitation for their leaders to join the Board of Peace.

In a joint statement, the ministers announced their countries’ collective decision to participate in the Board.

They said each nation will complete the necessary legal and procedural steps to formalise the membership. including Egypt, Pakistan and the UAE  that have already confirmed their intention to join.

The ministers reaffirmed their support for the peace efforts led by Trump and stressed their commitment to backing the work of the Board of Peace as a transitional administration, in line with the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.

They said the initiative aims to secure a permanent ceasefire, support the reconstruction of Gaza and advance a just and lasting peace, based on the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood, in accordance with international law.

The plan, endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, is intended to help pave the way for long-term security and stability for all countries and people across the region.
