The UAE Aid Agency has provided urgent relief supplies to Filipinos affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that left more than more than 30 people dead and over 400 injured in the southern coast of Philippines.

A  comprehensive needs assessment was carried out by the UAE Aid agency in coordination with the relevant Filipino authorities to measure the aid needed.

The agency did not share details on the amount of aid sent out.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stated that the UAE's response "stems from the country’s international responsibility toward communities and peoples facing natural disasters and crises".

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had earlier shared a message to the leader of Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr expressing his condolences over the victims of the attack, and wished a speedy recovery for all those injured.
