The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held talks on enhancing bilateral ties and reviewed various regional and international issues.
During the meeting, which took place at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed commended the Russian President's significant contributions to the growth of UAE-Russia relations at various levels.
Putin congratulated His Highness on the UAE's 52nd Union Day, expressing his wishes for continued progress and prosperity in the UAE.
The two leaders stressed the need for international action to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, protect civilians, and ensure the safe and sustained delivery of humanitarian aid.
They also addressed recent developments related to the Ukraine crisis, with Sheikh Mohamed emphasising the UAE's commitment to resolving conflicts worldwide through diplomacy and dialogue.
The meeting touched upon the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) at Expo City Dubai, with the Russian President expressing his hopes for the summit to yield outcomes that contribute to finding constructive solutions to climate challenges.
He also commended the UAE's role on the international stage, particularly through its membership on the UN Security Council, as well as its efforts in contributing to fostering global stability.
