UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with former US President George W. Bush on Wednesday, as part of his landmark visit to Washington.
His Highness and the former president recalled Bush’s historic visit to the UAE in 2008, which strengthened the two nations’ partnership based on shared values and a mutual commitment to promoting progress and stability.
His Highness also highlighted the pivotal role of Bush’s late father, former president George H.W. Bush, in solidifying the friendship and partnership between the two countries. His Highness noted that President Bush Snr had been 'a friend of the UAE and an ally to the region during a most difficult period.’
The UAE President reaffirmed that the shared commitment to promoting security, stability, and peace, both in the region and globally, has been a central pillar of UAE-US cooperation over the past decades, and expressed his confidence that this collaboration will continue into the future.
