UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held talks with his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella on strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing the UAE-Italy strategic partnership.
The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Mattarella on his state visit and expressed appreciation for his efforts to enhance ties between the two nations.
Mattarella highlighted the strength of the relationship, describing it as one built on trust, mutual respect and a common vision for progress.
The two leaders reviewed key areas of cooperation, including the economy, investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainability and cultural exchange.
They also shared views on regional and international developments, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in supporting peace and stability.
Sheikh Mohamed noted that relations between the UAE and Italy have seen steady progress since 1971, and emphasised the UAE’s commitment to building on recent achievements, including through cultural cooperation as a bridge for deeper understanding.
The visit concluded with His Highness hosting a luncheon in honour of Mattarella and his accompanying delegation.
