UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has presented Paraguay’s President, Santiago Peña Palacios, with the Most Reformed Government Global Award, one of the top honours of the World Governments Summit.
Sheikh Mohamed said advancing government capabilities is a key priority for countries looking to navigate the future, stressing the importance of anticipating change and keeping pace with rapid global transformation through efficiency, innovation and excellence.
Congratulating the President and the people of Paraguay, His Highness said the country has set an inspiring example in public sector reform, built on efficiency, transparency, innovation and good governance.
The Most Reformed Government Global Award recognises countries that achieve leadership in governance quality, transparency, sustainable development and digital government, based on a rigorous set of international indicators.
Nominations are evaluated by the World Governments Summit in collaboration with knowledge partner Ernst and Young, measuring economic performance, governance strength, institutional effectiveness and development‑focused policymaking.
Award criteria also assess the impact, sustainability and long‑term vision of public sector reforms, with a focus on accountability, resilience and delivering outcomes that meet citizens’ needs.
