UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has explored ways to strength ties with Burundi during talks with the country's president Évariste Ndayishimiye in Abu Dhabi's Qasr Al Shati.
Ndayishimiye is on a working visit to the UAE.
During the meeting, His Highness congratulated the leader on the occasion of Burundi’s Unity Day, marked on February 5.
The meeting discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the economic, investment, and renewable energy sectors, as well as other priority areas of mutual interest.
The two sides reaffirmed their continued commitment to strengthening cooperation in a manner that serves their mutual interests and delivers tangible benefits to their peoples.
The leaders also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, and stressed the importance of supporting regional and global peace and stability, given their role in advancing sustainable development and prosperity.
