UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received the President of the European Council, António Costa, who is visiting the country as part of a regional tour.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in the region and their impact on regional and global peace and security, as well as on maritime safety, energy supplies and the global economy.
They also addressed recent Iranian attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region, describing them as violations of international law.
Costa expressed the European Council’s solidarity with the UAE and other countries in the region, and their efforts to protect security and ensure the safety of their people.
The two sides also reviewed cooperation between the UAE and the European Union, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing negotiations on key partnership and trade agreements, and to expanding collaboration in support of mutual interests.
