UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
The talks focused on cooperation between the two countries and ways to strengthen ties, particularly in defence and security.
The meeting also covered developments in the Middle East and concerns over their impact on regional and international stability, as well as global maritime security.
The UAE and Australia have expanded cooperation in recent years across defence, trade and strategic sectors.
