Two men have been arrested in Abu Dhabi for attempting to scam victims over the phone.

Mobile phones, sim cards and cash were seized from the site following a joint operation by the police in Abu Dhabi and Ajman.

According to the officials, the men posed as bank officials to unsuspecting victims who were manipulated into providing their bank details after which money from the account was stolen.

The public have been reminded not to reveal any personal or banking information over phone calls, and to report such incidents using the Aman service via toll-free number 8002626 or SMS on 2828.

Major General Mohammed Suhail Al Rashidi, Director of the Criminal Security Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, stressed that the police will be on the lookout for anyone who compromises the security of the society and seize people's money by fraud.
