The UAE has opened a field hospital in Afghanistan's Herat province to treat those wounded during the recent earthquakes.
The hospital will provide the necessary health care and perform advanced surgical operations for the injured.
The UAE continues to send relief aid to the country, with two aircraft carrying 53 tonnes of aid, including food parcels and 500 tents, landing on Saturday.
"For the fifth consecutive day, the UAE humanitarian air bridge continues to provide supplies to meet the basic needs of the people of Afghanistan," added Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations Affairs, adding that the UAE has sent a total of 140 tonnes so far.
It follows the directive of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide essential humanitarian assistance to those impacted by the quake through an air bridge.
