The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has called on UAE citizens and students to watch out for fake messages and emails in the name of its diplomatic missions.

On the social media platform X, the ministry cited examples of scammers claiming to represent UAE missions and its employees to ask for payments to process scholarships and admissions to universities abroad.

MoFA has stressed the importance of not responding to such requests and verifying the accuracy of the information they receive.

It added that suspicious messages and emails can be reported via the ministry's emergency hotline 0097180024.
