The UAE has reaffirmed its support for the United Nations' efforts to come up with a diplomatic solution to the Syrian crisis.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, reiterated the UAE's commitment during a meeting with the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir O. Pedersen.
The virtual discussions were held on the sidelines of the latest UN General Assembly meetings.
They reviewed the progress of the political process in Syria as well as the prospects of reinforcing stability in the country.
Dr. Gargash also emphasised on the need for respecting Syria's territorial integrity while strengthening the Arab role in stopping external interference in Syrian affairs.
