His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a phone call with Maldives Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam on Saturday to discuss bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The two ministers explored opportunities to expand ties across several sectors in support of their shared development goals and mutual interests.
The call also covered regional developments, including the impact of the Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting civilian sites and facilities in the UAE.
Iruthisham Adam expressed the Maldives’ solidarity with the UAE and condemned the attacks, while Sheikh Abdullah thanked her for the country’s support and reaffirmed the safety of residents and visitors in the Emirates.
The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening international efforts to support regional security, stability and sustainable peace.
During the call, Sheikh Abdullah also congratulated Iruthisham Adam on her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished her success in her new role.
