The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has launched the first phase of a vaccination programme for Syrian refugees living in Jordanian camps.
As many as 12,000 people will be given the Sinopharm vaccine.
The campaign is being implemented in the Emirati-Jordanian camp of Mrajeeb Al Fhood as well as Zaatari, Al Azraq and Al Hadiqa camps.
The move is in line with the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and the Honorary Chairwoman of the ERC.
It is being implemented in coordination with the UAE's embassy in Amman, the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi and the Jordanian Ministry of Health.
