UAE, French foreign ministers review regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has met with France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, to discuss regional developments and bilateral ties.

During the meeting in Abu Dhabi, the two sides reviewed the repercussions of recent Iranian missile attacks, and their implications for regional and international security, including maritime safety, energy supplies and the global economy.

The French minister reaffirmed France’s solidarity with the UAE, voicing support for measures taken to protect the country’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, as well as the safety of residents and visitors.

Sheikh Abdullah welcomed the visit, describing it as a reflection of the strong strategic relationship between the two countries, and expressed appreciation for France’s support following the attacks.

The talks also covered the latest developments surrounding the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, with both sides stressing the importance of coordinated international efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.

In addition, the ministers reviewed ways to further strengthen cooperation between the UAE and France across key sectors, including economic, cultural and technological fields.
