The UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) is reminding private companies to meet their Emiratisation targets for 2023 to avoid facing penalties.
Firms employing 50 or more workers are required to achieve a 2 per cent annual growth in the Emiratisation of skilled jobs before December 31.
The Ministry has cautioned employers against any attempts to evade targets or engage in false Emiratisation.
As many as 916 private establishments have been caught violating the rules since mid-2022.
The Ministry added that companies that are still short of meeting their requirements can benefit from the Nafis platform to look for Emirati job seekers.
More than 88,000 Emiratis are currently employed in the private sector while over 18,000 establishments have succeeded in achieving their Emiratisation targets.
