The UAE's expressed its condolences and solidarity with India over the victims of the stampede in Uttar Pradesh during the Kumbh Mela religious festival, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sympathies to the government and people, and to the families of the victims of the tragedy, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.
Police in India said at least 30 people were killed in a pre-dawn stampede at the festival in northern India on Wednesday as tens of millions gathered to take a dip in sacred river waters on the most auspicious day of a six-week Hindu festival.
