UAE, EC Presidents discuss regional situation

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call on the region's developments with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen on Monday

The two parties discussed the evolving situation in Syria, with the UAE reiterating its commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and efforts to achieve stability and development for the population. 

They emphasised the need to prioritise dialogue and understanding in Syria, while ensuring the protection and stability of the country’s national institutions.
