Doctors have successfully operated on a UAE resident whose artery was "100 per cent blocked."
Surgeons at Zulekha Hospital Sharjah said the minimally invasive cardiac surgery completely opened up the 46-year-old's artery, allowing blood to flow to his heart again.
They're urging residents to regularly check their blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
“There are a lot of patients living in our societies who are not treated rightly and are ignorant of the complete diagnosis and continue to live an uneasy life on medication and fear, coupled with other side effects distorting their normal lives," said Dr. Anil Bansal, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Zulekha Hospital Dubai.
“It is imperative that we watch our health and have regular tests done, avoid unbalanced eating habits and maintain healthy levels.”
