The UAE has sent a plane carrying urgent medical aid to the Egyptian city of Arish to be brought into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.
The initiative is aimed at easing the suffering of Palestinians affected by the ongoing Israel-Gaza war.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations, said that the medical aid, which was dispatched in coordination with Egypt is awaiting urgent entry into the Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, the UAE also announced the launch of its 'Tarahum - for Gaza' (Compassion for Gaza) campaign to establish collection centres for humanitarian relief packages in coordination with charitable organisations, volunteer centres and the private sector.
