The UAE has strongly condemned an attack targeting an Indian-flagged commercial ship off the coast of Oman, warning that the incident threatens international maritime security and the stability of critical shipping routes.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed solidarity with India and affirmed the UAE’s support for all measures aimed at protecting vessels and safeguarding maritime navigation.
The Ministry described the attack as a serious escalation and a violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions protecting freedom of navigation and commercial shipping.
It also warned that targeting commercial vessels and using strategic waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz for economic pressure or intimidation poses a direct threat to regional stability, global trade and energy security.
