Astronauts Hazzaa Al Mansoori and Sultan Al Neyadi attended a special session at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature to launch 'The Race to Space' book.
During the media interaction, the Emirati astronauts, one of whom will fly on an eight-day space mission on September 25, stressed that the main focus was not about who will be selected, but to take the UAE flag up to the International Space Station (ISS).
They said they would continue to work for the UAE’s space mission.
The astronauts were accompanied by Sultan Mohammad Al Merri, the assistant director for general scientific affairs at Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), who gave an overview of the space mission.
Speaking to ARN News at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, AlNeyadi says although there's a friendly rivalry between them.
