The UAE Armed Forces' mission has left the Abu Dhabi International Airport for the holy lands to perform the hajj rituals. The group includes the families of Emirati martyrs who died in the line of duty in Yemen. They were seen off by a number of army officers. The General Command of the Armed Forces annually sends defence personnel and civil employees to perform the hajj.
